A community of people working together to recover from addictions of all kinds.
Using the essential tenets the historical Buddha taught over 2500 years ago of Mindfulness, Loving-Kindness, Compassion, Sympathetic-Joy and Equanimity, we have created an enthusiastic sangha (community) to help each other to heal and grow.
The Triangle Refuge Recovery scene began with one meeting that wasn't even publicly listed. In less than two years our community has grown to 5 meetings and countless regular attendees.
The best word to describe our sangha is family. We have regular get-togethers, picnics, outings and retreats.
The best way to find out if refuge recovery would be of value to your recovery program is visiting a few meetings and getting to know both us and the program.
What is the Refuge Recovery program?
The first step is renunciation.
Next we incorporate a daily meditation practice and then move onto incorporating the four noble truths and eight fold path as a way of living.
Moving forward we begin in depth truth inventories and regular meeting attendance to include reading of the Refuge Recovery book.
Finally, finding a mentor that you trust and keeping regular contact is a crucial part of our renunciation as well.
These are the basics. Come spend some time with us and find out more!
