Worksheets, guides, and materials from Refuge Recovery to support your practice.
In the Buddhist tradition of Dana — the practice of generosity — your donation helps keep Refuge Recovery free and accessible to all. Every gift, large or small, is an act of compassion.
Refuge Recovery is a practice, a process, a set of tools, a treatment, and a path to healing addiction and the suffering caused by addiction. Its guiding philosophy draws from the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama — a radical psychologist and spiritual revolutionary who, 2,500 years ago, came to understand why human beings cause and experience so much suffering.
He traced the root of that suffering to "uncontrollable thirst or repetitive craving" — whether for pleasure, for relief, or for people, places, and experiences we can't let go of. Through meditation, wise action, and compassion he found a way out of that suffering, and spent the rest of his life teaching others to do the same.
The Refuge Recovery program adapts these timeless teachings as a path of recovery from addiction. No religious background is required — just a desire to be free.
"The only requirement for membership is a desire to be free from addiction."— Refuge Recovery
The Triangle Refuge Recovery Group serves the greater Raleigh, NC area with in-person meetings every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, plus online Zoom meetings every Wednesday and Sunday — open to everyone, everywhere.
